When it comes to building the perfect website, there are several ways to do so... and as technology advances, it's becoming easier and easier to throw up a website without knowing all the technical aspects of html. Anymore these days, with the help of wordpress and blogger, anyone can create a website within a few hours and call it their own. It may not look all that great at first, but it's a start and over time can develop into something to be proud of. So lets begin with the basics of building a website.

Like I said before, the Internet has advanced so much and there are so many online resources and tools anymore that can assist new Internet Site Builders as they dream of becoming the next big idea...like Twitter or Facebook.

The first thing to decide is how you plan on building your site. You have several choices...

Hire a Professional Website Designer - hiring a professional without question is the best way to go...as long as you have the money or means to do so... and you've done enough research to know the product will pay you back. You could build one of the greatest websites but if no one wants the product or service, you've just spent a fortune and a beautiful site to look at.
  • 2. Buy a Website Template - Still a very good option. More than likely you will need certain software like a html editing program like dreamweaver and probably photoshop to edit images. You'll also need to know how to use them, which will take additional time. So you might as well plan of have a professional help in the building process. Depending on the template, it will usually cost a lot less to have a professional make changes because template has been created.
  • 3. Site Builders / - This is a good option if you're not too concerned with what your site looks like to begin with. Most hosting companies these days offer site building tools that allow you to customize your own website. Most even have templates they've already created that you can choose from. This is a quick, simple, low cost way to get your site up.
  • 4. Build your Own Website - If you're on a shoe-string budget and just want to throw up a quick easy plain website, for FREE, then you need to throw up a blog. Blogs are quick and easy and search engines love them. Wordpress and Blogger are among the biggest. Although this is the least expensive way to go, it also requires more of your time and you'll need to have some basic html knowledge.
Regardless of which method you choose, I always recommend learning "SOME" html unless you are in a position to always have someone else do it for you. With some basic knowledge of html, it makes it easier to add content when needed and make minor changes to the website when it needs to be updated.
